SilverCollection is not a substitute for a collection management system but a means to provide access to the collection data online. To provide a universal way to use SilverCollection and at the same time protect the authoritative database that houses the main collection we setup a read only database connection to download either daily, weekly, or monthly your specimen records to an web friendly database.
