Specify Harvester:

Specify Harvester is a migration tool used to synchronize a SilverCollection Darwin Core v1.4 table from a Specify 5 database. The process works by querying out a section of the Specify records and comparing the data against the SilverCollection table. This process is repeated until all records have been compared. Any differences in the records results in one of three possibilities; addition, updates, or deletions to records. When the Synchronization runs it creates segment files to be easily managed by the migrations tool to commit the changes. If any errors occur during a segment update the whole segment is rolled back without any changes occurring. Once the segments are processed the SilverCollection table will be in sync with the Specify system. Once the changes have been preformed the online system will automatically reflect the new changes.
